On Libya, ICP Asks Kobler of Haftar and Ganfouda in Benghazi, UNSC Press Elements Here

UNITED NATIONS, February 8 (InnerCityPro.com) -- After the UN Security Council met about Libya on February 8, agreed on Press Elements were read out (below) and UN SRSG Martin Kobler took questions. Inner City Press asked him about General Haftar and the Ganfouda area in Benghazi, video here.

"Council members reiterated their support for the work of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and Libyan Political Agreement.
Council members condemned all violence between armed groups in Libya
Council members noted ongoing challenges facing the Libyan people but welcomed recent progress, particularly in relation to Libya's economic challenges and stressed the need for unity in the fight against terrorism.
Council members reiterated grave concern at the smuggling of migrants in the Mediterranean Sea, in particular off the cost of Libya and called on all parties to improve humanitarian access across Libya.
Council members recognized a growing concern among Libyans for a more inclusive political settlement within the framework of the Libyan Political Agreement. They welcomed the role of regional and international support in convening Libyan owned political talks to achieve that, including Libya's neighbors and regional organizations."
