US Condemns 3 Attacks In Saudi Arabia, UN’s Ban Not Yet, Meets Myanmar PR

UNITED NATIONS, July 5 (InnerCityPro.com) -- The US State Department has issued a statement on the attacks in Saudi Arabia, which UN High Commissioner for Refugees has already condemned as an attack on Islam. So far nothing from Ban Ki-moon, who is at the UN to accept credentials from among others Myanmar's new ambassador, nor from the UN Security Council. From the US State Department:

"The United States extends its condolences to the families of all those killed and injured in yesterday’s attacks in Jeddah, Qatif, and Medina, Saudi Arabia. We condemn the violence that has marred the final days of Ramadan and brought sorrow to so many innocent families.

We stand -- as we have stood -- with the people of Saudi Arabia as they confront the scourge of terrorism. These attacks underscore the scope of the threat we all face, and remind us of the need to continue to stay focused on combatting violent extremism and bringing those responsible for it to justice."
